Educare Goals

Educare Milwaukee makes an investment in young children from low-income families.  Our primary goal is to close the “opportunity gap” between disadvantaged children and their middle-class peers and to ensure that young at-risk children enter kindergarten meeting national norms for school-readiness. 

The high-quality educational approach includes: 

• Raising the professional level of the teachers and staff
• Reducing the child-to-staff ratio in each classroom to a more effective level
• Incorporating an advanced curriculum
• Engaging the parents from the very beginning in a covenant of commitment and a partnership in governance
• Ensuring adequate support services for children and families including health care and mental health services
• Partnering on state-of-the-art national research, longitudinal studies and outcomes assessments
• Housing the programs in am innovative, child-focused, state-of-the-art facility
• Providing continuing educational opportunities for teachers, staff and parents
• Blending several funding streams for program sustainability
• Advocating nationally on public policy issues on behalf of investing in the very young
